KingComposer Removed from WordPress Repository

KingComposer, a popular WordPress page builder was removed from WordPress repository yesterday, dated: January 7, 2018. When visited the official plugin page, you see the following message:

“This plugin was closed on January 7, 2019 and is no longer available for download”

KingComposer Removed from WordPress

To date, the plugin has 80,000+ active installs and last updated status is 9 hours ago which raises the question as to what the reason behind such major change was. This is going to affect a lot of users if this change is permanent. The official website has no indication of this change and still has download linkbacks to official WordPress plugin page.

There were many reports in recent days about the issues of different page builders with Gutenberg. KingComposer was also one of them. Users were advised to activate WordPress classic editor till further development.

We reached out to the developers and are awaiting their response.

We will post an update here as soon as we receive updates from them.

Update:

Anthony, a WordPress user posted this on a forum:

“Hi

currently the plugin kingcomposer is appearing some errors need to be fixed so we have to close the download to perform error correction,

In the shortest time we will reopen it for everyone to download and use.

The next version will be 2.7.8.

Sorry about this problem”

It seems like 2.7.8 had some unacceptable issues so they closed the development from official repository to stop users from getting updates.

We will be happy to hear your thoughts
